About

In the fall of 2004 the Board of the New Jersey State Youth Orchestra approved a new program known as the Chamber Music Players. Why chamber music? Because chamber music offers students opportunities to play in small groups with more individual responsibility. Chamber music is highly effective for sharpening musicianship skills while encouraging individual creativity and expression.

The Chamber Music Players consists of advanced high school string players and flutists and exceptional string players and flutists of middle school age. Wayne Arndt and Katherine Roselli are the directors.

Membership is by audition and is open to NJSYO members and non-members. In addition to advanced musicianship, the program requires exceptional motivation and sense of responsibility.

Performances include full-length concerts, fund-raising events, outreach programs, and performance collaborations. Concerts typically include works for chamber orchestra, small ensembles, and soloists.

Rehearsals are held Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Church in Holmdel, NJ. Please contact chambermusic@njsyo.org  for more information or to request an audition.
