Welcome to the New Jersey State Youth Orchestra!

  Important schedule updates for the 2010-2011 season!  

  • Thursday, September 16th, 2010 - Auditions, 6-8PM.

  • Thursday, September 23rd, 2010 - Informational/Orientation meeting, 6:30PM.

  • Thursday, September 30th, 2010 - First rehearsal for the the PSO, CYO, and SYO, 6:30PM

All of the above events will take place at St. Mary's Church in Colts Neck, NJ.   Directions.   

 

Remember!  All NJSYO students must complete a registration form annually:  NJSYO Registration Form   

 

Please mail your completed registration forms and check to NJSYO; P.O. Box 642; Red Bank, NJ 07701, or you may register in person during auditions.  Registrations must be received or postmarked by September 23th, 2010.

 

It's not too late to join the NJSYO for the 2010-2011 season.  Auditions will be held on Thursday, September 16th, 2010 from 6-8PM at St. Mary's Church in Colts Neck, NJ.   Directions.   


To schedule an audition, please review the Audition Information and Program Description,  complete the Audition Application form (page 8), and then send your completed form to us at auditions@njsyo.org or via US mail.  You need to audition only if:

  1. You are new to the Orchestra, or

  2. You would like to move up from 2nd to 1st violin, or

  3. You wish to move up to the next orchestra and meet the membership requirements.

About the Orchestras

The New Jersey State Youth Orchestra (NJSYO) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and a New Jersey  registered charity.   We are operated by volunteers for the purpose of providing musical education to our youth.  Currently, there are approximately 175  students grouped into three orchestras by age and ability.  NJSYO also offers a chamber music group  to provide young musicians the opportunity to perform in smaller groups, summer music camps, and a "Learn to Play"  program for beginners on select instruments.
