The New Jersey State Youth Orchestra is made up of four ensembles: Students are grouped by age and ability within the PSO, CYO, and SYO. The Chamber Music Program provides young musicians the opportunity to perform in smaller groups. The NJSYO also offers summer music camps and a "Learn to Play" program for beginners on select instruments. All NJSYO students must complete a registration form annually: NJSYO Registration Form
Please mail your completed registration forms and check to NJSYO; P.O. Box 642; Red Bank, NJ 07701, or you may register in person during auditions. Registrations must be received or postmarked by September 29, 2011 to avoid the $50 late fee.
Auditions for the 2011-2012 season will be held on June 9th, 2011 starting at 6:00PM at Saint Mary's Church on the corner of Phalanx Road and Route 34 in Colts Neck, New Jersey. Directions. The NJSYO will hold another audition on September 15, 2011 for the PSO, CYO, and SYO.
To schedule an audition, please review the Audition Information and Program Description and then send e-mail to us at auditions@njsyo.org to schedule your audition. Please bring your completed Audition Application (page 8) with you to your audition. You need to audition only if:
PSO/CYO/SYO rehearsals will be held on Thursdays at 6:30PM at Saint Mary's Church on the corner of Phalanx Road and Route 34 in Colts Neck. Directions.
Chamber Music Program rehearsals will be held on Saturdays at 1:00PM at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd; 112 Middletown Road, Holmdel. Directions.
